Joey Vera

Armored Saint / Fates Warning

“I played through Frank Bello’s Hartke rig and was literally lifted off my feet. The clarity and punch at such high volumes was staggering. I was sold!”

Joey Vera started out his 30-year career as the bassist and founding member of Los Angeles-based heavy metal band Armored Saint, of which he is still a member. Joey recorded six records with Armored Saint before they disbanded in 1992. Shortly thereafter, Joey joined the legendary prog-metal outfit Fates Warning, of which he is also still a member, and recorded five records with them. In 2004, Joey replaced Frank Bello in Anthrax for a year and has since been Frank's sub whenever duty calls. Currently, Joey is touring with Armored Saint in support of their latest release "La Raza" and can also be heard on the new Arch/Matheos record, which is garnering critical acclaim.
